  2. Sieve all dry Ingredients and set aside.
  3. Add eggs gradually to the butter/sugar mixture and continue mixing
  4. Add preservative,milk and Flavour,continue mixing till everything is combined properly
  5. Pre heat oven
  6. In the Butter mixture,gradually add d dry ingredients and fold with a spatula till everything is incorporated.
  7. Prepare ur baking pan and Pour in ur Batter.
  8. Bake for about 20mins, then check to see if it's done by inserting toothpick into d batter, if it comes out dry,ur cake is ready,if its wet,return it back to d oven and continue baking.
  9. Ur Plain Cake is ready.

I didn't stray away from the traditional version as I wanted to try it in it's classic form. Tip the batter into the tin and smooth over the top. Pour the cake mixture into the tin and tap lightly. I've experimented with plain flour and self-raising flour using baking powder with both types of cake. The self-raising flour gives a slightly lighter cake.
